LEAD MOLD DESIGN ENGINEER (Mold Shop Environment)

Platinum Direct Hire Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Lead Design Engineer in a mold shop environment, in the Windsor/Essex area. Able to guide, manage and inspire teams of engineers , to successfully develop and deliver projects and products on-time, within scope and within budget. Must have a valid drivers’ license and your own transportation.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

​

• Minimum 5 years experience in a Lead Design Engineer or relatable role in a Mold Shop environment

• Hire, on-board and train new team members, set performance expectations, provide feedback, and foster a positive team culture

• Create/update a dedicated folder structure to store all customer models and files

• Collect, import and review the 2D and 3D models for inconsistencies provided by the customer, modify if needed

• Create detailed lists of materials needed, choose suppliers, prepare RFQ’s, gather quotes, determine best deliverables and pricing, then create and send purchase orders

• Create a detailed list of standard components used in your mold designs, with a file organization system for your design library, then create high-quality CAD models using Cimatron

• Assign tasks to junior designers based on their skills and workload capacity

• Work closely with Project Managers in product feasibility, create designs and detail files to the plant foreman

• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite and Cimatron design software

• Must have a valid drivers’ license and your own reliable transportation

• Proficient reading blueprints and engineering drawings

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum High school diploma required

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferred

 

HOURLY RANGE:

• Pays $36+/hr DOE
