SENIOR MOLD DESIGNER & SURFACER

Platinum Direct Hire Inc. has an opportunity for a Senior Mold Designer with some Surfacing experience in the Windsor/Essex area. If you’re passionate about automotive plastic injection mold design and have proven expertise in Cimatron software we want to hear from you. You MUST also have a valid drivers’ license, and your own transportation.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

​

• 4+ years’ experience in Mold Design in the automotive plastic injection molding industry

• MUST have some surfacing experience

• Proficient in Cimatron software for mold design, surface modeling, and Class-A surfacing of interior/exterior parts

• Strong knowledge of mold design principles, surfacing techniques, and mold flow analysis

• Collaborate with product engineers to ensure moldable, cost-effective designs; support feasibility studies and design reviews

• Provide technical input during tool builds, trials, and validation; troubleshoot and resolve design/surfacing issues

• Skilled in creating 2D drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation with excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or related field

 

HOURLY RANGE:

​

• Pays up to $36/hr DOE plus OT
